How to play 2048

Since 2048 takes place on a compact 4x4 grid, the controls are intentionally simple and easy to grasp. Your objective is to slide matching tiles together to merge them, create space for new tiles, and reach the ultimate 2048 tile. However, with every move, a new tile appears, making strategic planning essential. If the board fills up with no valid moves left, it's game over! Click New Game anytime to restart and refine your strategy.

Controls The game features straightforward keyboard controls to slide tiles in any direction:

• W / Up Arrow – Slide tiles up
• A / Left Arrow – Slide tiles left
• S / Down Arrow – Slide tiles down
• D / Right Arrow – Slide tiles right

Each move shifts all tiles in the chosen direction until they hit a wall or another tile. If two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into one, doubling their value. Keep in mind that every move spawns a new "2" tile, so careful planning is required to avoid running out of space.
